FEND is a new initiative designed to help parents navigate the complicated journey of getting their child onto the diagnosis pathway. Delivered by Adenydd and led by CEO Gela Griffiths and our experienced team, FEND is rooted in both professional expertise and our own lived experiences.
We understand how frustrating it can feel when schools dismiss parents' concerns around their childs Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
Getting your child on the diagnosis pathway not only opens the door to the right support - it helps schools recognise that your childs needs are important and need to be addressed.
Adenydd has knowledge of diagnostic systems in both Wales and England. We aim to guide families through these systems with compassion, practical advice, and hope.
We believe that no parent should feel alone when fighting for their child's needs to be understood.
Listen to real people from Adenydd discuss their experience with and the importance of diagnosis
We want to give every child the opportunity to thrive at school and in life, but we can't do it alone. Please consider making a donation so that we can bring programmes like FEND to more families.
Parents begin by completing our FEND form, sharing key details about your child's needs and current situation.
This information helps us understand the challenges you and your child are facing and ensures that we can respond appropriately.
Once we review your form, our experienced team will respond with tailored advice on the best course of action for your child.
Depending on their needs, we may ask you to complete additional forms, or take short, online assessments. These additional steps are crucial for preparing a strong, accurate diagnostic application for your child.
Throughout this process, we will remain available to answer your questions, provide reassurance and direct you towards the most relevant tools and resources for your situation.
Many parents tell us that simply having someone who listens to them and takes their concerns seriously has been life-changing.
FEND is here to ensure you are not just heard, but guided and supported every step of the way. Adenydd aims to give you confidence in navigating the often overwhelming diagnostic system.
