Holiday Fun at Clwb Calon
Clwb Calon is an Adenydd project that holds Stay and Play sessions designed specifically for children with Additional Learning Needs during the school holidays. It provides a fun, inclusive space where children can play and families can find support within the Clydach community.

A different kind of holiday club
For children with additional learning needs such as autism and ADHD, holiday clubs can be more difficult than fun. They can be too busy, too loud, or just have too much going on.
This can lead to overwhelm, meltdowns, and often means that some families end up stuck at home, isolated, with nowhere to go during the Summer holidays.
This is why we have set up Clwb Calon - an inclusive, sensory friendly holiday club - to bring these families together to meet up and have some holiday fun!

Inclusive and Friendly
While other holiday clubs can be too busy, noisy or crowded for children with additional needs, Clwb Calon provides a sensory-friendly alternative.
With smaller numbers, a quieter environment and lots of sensory support, children with complex needs can know that they're going to have a good time at Clwb Calon.
Meet Other Parents
At Adenydd, we know that being the parent of a child with complex needs can be isolating. That's why Clwb Calon provides you with a space to meet other parents in a similar situation to yourself.
Many of our parents also attend our term-time support group: Calon Y Gymuned.
I think it gave both of my children somewhere to be themselves, without any judgement, just a safe space. It's very welcoming. All the staff are lovely, and what they do is absolutely fantastic.
It was nice to mix with other people on the same level, it was very accepting.

Lots of fun activities
Last Summer, Clwb Calon hosted character meet and greets, reptile days, and we even brought in a local panto star to attend the opening!
Our regular sessions include a range of activity stations to provide sensory-friendly play, such as our edible cereal-sand for children with PICA.
We also provide sensory tents for children who may feel overwhelmed.
Keeping families together
Children with additional needs and their siblings can wind up stuck at home suring the holidays. Parents often face a difficult choice where one child may have to stay home while the other plays.
With Clwb Calon, you don't need to worry about that - we provide a wide range of activities that all children can enjoy, whether they have additional needs, or not.
